Tara Norton

Project Manager

Tara is a Project Manager at Modern Building Company. She grew up in Lafayette, CA and currently resides in Napa, CA. Tara started working in construction when she was 15 years old at a construction company in the Bay Area specializing in Public Works projects – Caltrans, hospitals, and public schools. From there, Tara went to college at the University of San Diego (Jim Harbaugh was her college football coach – GO TOREROS!) and additional schooling at UC Berkeley for Construction Management.

After college, Tara started working for Kaiser Hospital. Fun Fact – Kaiser Hospitals actually started as a Construction firm – they hired Dr. Garfield to open a hospital for their steel workers to receive medical care. Later, Tara worked for a few general contractors in the San Francisco area and gained a lot of experience by working on TI’s, high rises, hospitals, restaurants, multi-family projects and resorts. Soon thereafter, Tara moved to Napa to work on the Napa Airport and Devlin Bridge project, where she gained heavy civil experience.

Tara enjoys golfing with her dad, playing tennis as much as possible, going to church on Sundays, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoys time with her four nieces and two nephews, where she gets to help them with soccer, cheering them on and other various team sports. Tara is a huge NINERS fan! Tara has an amazing puppy named Duke (the cutest little chiweenie), and loves taking him on long walks/jogs! Tara thrives on being super active and youthful!

Family first, work is my passion, and I love to laugh a lot.
