Phil Strawn is a Project Executive and Partner at Modern Building, where he has been helping shape the company’s success since 2015. With roots in the industry dating back to his teenage years building custom homes in Paradise, CA. Phil brings more than two decades of hands-on experience and leadership to every project.

Over the course of his career, he has worn many hats—OSHPD superintendent, bridge construction field engineer, and owner’s representative for higher-education facilities—giving him a uniquely well-rounded perspective. Today, he is especially recognized for leading complex pre-construction efforts and driving results through the design-build delivery method, where his ability to align teams and guide collaboration consistently delivers value to clients.

As a Partner, Phil plays a key role in Modern’s strategic direction, mentorship, and client relationships, combining technical expertise with a forward-looking leadership style.

Outside of work, Phil enjoys spending time with his wife staying busy raising their two boys on their small family ranch. They enjoy traveling, coaching/engaging in youth sports, and staying active in the greater Chico community through various charities and community organizations.
